What you do in your job
Oversee all operational aspects of the company including the asset management of approximately 1 million square feet of retail properties throughout Southeastern Virginia and Eastern North Carolina.
Education
Business management degree from Tidewater Community College and the Certified Property Manager designation.
Career progression
After holding administrative positions in the accounting and banking industries, I worked for a local commercial real estate company. When the chairman retired from the firm, I was invited to join his new venture. After 16 years we continue to develop and manage our privately held retail portfolio.

Biggest factor in your success
My parents, who instilled in me a strong work ethic, and my mentor, Bob Stanton, who has been a great role model.

How do you balance your time?
I have not found the perfect solution as of yet, but try to use every day to it fullest.
Biggest obstacles and challenges you face or have faced
When I first entered the business world it was primarily male-dominated and through hard work and persistence I was able to break through to management opportunities. It is always a challenge to balance work and home and to be a good manager, wife, daughter and friend.
How have you overcome some of your challenges?
Taking advantage of educational opportunities and remembering to have fun.

To earn my Certified Commercial Investment Manager designation.

Always be a professional, strive to do your best and treat others with respect.

Enjoy traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
