What you do in your job 
Sales representative for Overseas Service Corp., a worldwide military broker. My responsibility is selling to the Defense Commissary Agency, Fort Lee, representing national companies, performing top-to-top meetings and business reviews.
Education 
Richmond Professional Institute, now Virginia Commonwealth University.
Career progression 
Employed at V. H. Monette & Co., Smithfield 1961-1986, vice president 1981-1986; employed at Overseas Service Corp., West Palm Beach, Fla., national account manager 1986-2003, vice president national accounts 2004-present.
Proudest business achievement Promoted to vice president with both of my employers and received Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Logistic Association 2008.
Biggest factor in your success 
My ability to communicate effectively; treating each of my clients (large or small) as my best client; taking my God-given talents and using them every day in my life.
Professional activities 
Hampton Roads American Logistic Association (past president, vice president and secretary); American Logistic Association Board of Directors 2007-2008, secretary 2008; American Logistic Association Commissary Council working with the Defense Commissary Agency, 1998-present; chairman of Military/Industry networking ladies luncheon 2000-present.
Volunteer and community activities 
Past judges chairman for the Suffolk Jaycees for Miss Suffolk Pageant; past judge for preliminaries to Miss Virginia Pageant; chair of the Defense Commissary Agency/American Logistic Association Appreciation Day for the Wounded Soldiers  program at Fort Lee.
How do you balance your time?
I take into account my priorities and strive for balance.
Biggest obstacles faced 
Breaking the glass ceiling for women in sales 25 years ago.
How have you overcome some of your challenges?
Hard work, commitment, setting goals and earning a great reputation with trust.
Professional goal in five years 
Continue to set a good example and be a mentor to young women. Plus give back by sharing my skills.
Advice for women
Live and work to your potential, effect change, show character in everything you do.
Downtime 
Spend time at our Outer Banks cottage; visit my grandsons in Connecticut; enjoy plays, music, shopping, golf and pulling for the New York Yankees.

People with a bad attitude and people not using their God-given talents to the fullest.
