Professional Construction Estimators Association

July 20, 2011 by cwhite, 43 weeks 8 hours ago

Several exciting things have happened at the Hampton Roads Chapter of Professional Construction Estimators Association in 2011.
In March 2011, the Chapter membership inducted the 2011-2012 Board of Directors. They are President Cebert White (The GovCon Group), First Vice President Ellen Sanders (ECS Mid Atlantic), Second Vice President Teddy Clancy (Clancy & Theys), Secretary Jason Armstrong (S.B. Ballard), Treasurer Curtis Burson (D.E. Kirby), National Director Taylor Wyant (Wolf Contractors) and Board Member Jeff Driskill (Brave General Contracting).
There are currently two PCEA Chapters in the State of Virginia as part of the national association. Hampton Roads is coordinating an effort to form a new chapter in the Greater Richmond Area as well as expanding in Hampton Roads.
The Hampton Roads Chapter celebrated their 25th Year as a member of PCEA in April 2011 with a grand celebration at Aberdeen Barn in Virginia Beach. Several Past Presidents were in attendance as well as a guest from the National Board of Directors.
The end of April, PCEA set cruise from Charleston, SC for the 2011 National Convention. During the convention, several awards were presented and Hampton Roads was well recognized.
Cebert White was presented the 2011 Membership Award for recruiting and sponsoring the most new members during the past year. This comes as many associations are losing membership but Hampton Roads has been in a growing pattern the past several years. This is the second consecutive year that Mr. White has won this award.
Hampton Roads was also presented the 2011 Bill Helms Chapter of the Year Award at National Convention. This award is based on a point system in which various points are earned throughout the year, based on different criteria in five major categories. These categories are Chapter Membership, Chapter Procedures, National Involvement, Education & Scholarships and Computer Technology. Each chapter is submitted to the National Office and the chapter earning the most points overall is regarded as an exemplary chapter. This is Hampton Roads first Chapter of the Year award since becoming part of PCEA in 1986.
Also at the National Convention, Cebert White was introduced as the National President of PCEA for the 2011 – 2012 year. This is the first time that a member of the Hampton Roads Chapter has reached this position in the national association.
For information about the Hampton Roads or Richmond Chapters contact the National Office at 877-521-7232, website www.pcea.org or the National President and Hampton Roads Chapter President, Cebert White at 757-355-0148.
