The Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board of Commissioners elected a new chair on Wednesday morning.
F. Nash Bilisoly, a partner with the law firm of Vandeventer Black LLP, will replace longtime chair W. Sheppard Miller, who announced his resignation on Sept. 12 and officially stepped down on Oct. 31.
With a strong board and a number of projects in final phases, Miller, who runs two companies of his own - KITCO Fiber Optics and Light Tech Inc. - thought it was the right time within the organization to hand over the reins.
Bilisoly has been on the board of NRHA since 2010. He is also on the board of the Hermitage Museum Foundation and serves on Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim’s Commission of Poverty Reduction.
In addition to selecting a new chair, the NRHA board also re-elected vice chair Barbara Hamm Lee at its Wednesday morning meeting. Hamm Lee, who is the chief creative services officer for WHRO-TV, was first appointed to the board in 2010.
