The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will offer free seminars in March, April, May and June throughout Hampton Roads and Williamsburg. All seminars include refreshments and are open to the public.
What, When & Where:
• Entrepreneurship Workshop/Express: Moving Your Business Forward, a workshop designed to provide information on available business resources and deliver practical, hands-on training covering key elements of business practice.
March 13, 08:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at One Franklin Street, Hampton
• Growing Sales Workshop: focused on helping businesses increase sales through local, state, federal and private sector markets
March 14, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Old Dominion University’s Webb Center located at 5115 Hampton Boulevard, Norfolk.
BREAKOUT Sessions include:
• Tips for selling to Federal, State & Local Gov’t
• Exporting for Small Business
• Private Sector Opportunities – Skanska, WM Jordan
• Social Media for Business
• Planning for and financing your growth
• Government Procurement Workshop: learn of the Commonwealth’s latest mandates for spending, and helpful tips that may help increase your chances of selling to the Commonwealth. Learn how you can gain access to the Commonwealth’s purchasing data base, register your company and also apply for certification that may enhance your chances of doing business with Virginia government. Also learn the procurement process and tips for selling to the Federal Government and local municipalities.

• Government Procurement Workshop - April 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Legacy Hall at 4301 New Town Ave., Williamsburg
• Entrepreneurship Workshop/Express: Moving Your Business Forward - April 17 from 8:30 a.m to 12 p.m. at the Williamsburg Community Building at 401 N Boundary St., Williamsburg.

• Entrepreneurship Workshop/Express: Moving Your Business Forward - May 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tidewater Community College, Suffolk Campus, 7000 College Drive (Manning Building, Room 114/116) Suffolk.
• Growing Sales Workshop - June 06 from 08:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Advanced Technology Center at the Tidewater Community College Virginia Beach Campus located at 1800 College Crescent, Virginia Beach.
